Clean & Simple Breakfast Recipes

Forget about your high carb bagels and processed silog meals. What you eat for breakfast will be a domino effect of how you'll eat and feel for the day. Just remember to keep it clean and simple. Here are some of my favorite breakfast recipes which will fuel you up and satisfy you for the day ahead!

Coconut Flour Waffles

Ingredients:
  • 2 tbsp of coconut flour (available at healthy options)
  • 2 medium sized eggs
  • 1 tbsp of canola oil
  • 1 packet of stevia
  • chopped bananas/any fruit of your choice *optional*
  • cinnamon *optional*
  • all natural peanut butter/almond butter *optional*
Process
  1. In a bowl, mix together your coconut flour, eggs, canola oil and stevia till all these ingredients have been incorporated well, leaving no residue of flour or liquid behind
  2. head up your waffle iron and place your batter in and wait til this has been toasted
  3. place your coconut flour waffles on a plate and top with bananas, peanut butter and cinnamon
  4. serve and enjoy!
This is the perfect alternative to your standard flour waffles because this is high in fiber and wheat free which means that it won't spike up your blood sugar! Remember that spiking up your blood sugar leaves you craving for more sugar and it leaves you sluggish later on in the day.

Poached egg on avocado and sugar free toast

Ingredients
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 of an avocado
  • 1 slice of sugar free bread
Process
  1. Toast your sugar free bread
  2. mash your avocado and spread on toast evenly
  3. poach your egg
  4. place poach egg on avocado spread toast
  5. sprinkle salt and pepper to taste
  6. serve and enjoy!
**How to poach an egg**
  1. Boil a medium sized pot of water
  2. add 3 tbsp of vinegar to the water
  3. While water in boiling stir the water swiftly until a whirl has been made
  4. crack open your egg in the middle of the whirl
  5. wait for egg to rise from the whirl
  6. viola! It took me a million tries til I perfected this tbh hehe

Flourless banana pancakes

Ingredients
  • 1 banana
  • 2 eggs
  • chopped banana *optional*
  • cinnamon *optional*
  • all natural peanut butter/almond butter *optional*
Process
  1. mash up your banana
  2. add your 2 eggs into your mashed banana and mix until incorporated throroughly
  3. heat and oil up your pan with butter/canola oil
  4. add a scoop of your batter to the pan and heat both sides evenly
  5. place all your pancakes on a plate and top with bananas, cinnamon, and nut butter (you can top it with anything you want to)
  6. serve and enjoy!

Healthy longganisa with cauliflower rice

Healthy longanissa

  2. heat up a pan with oil and sear cauliflower
  3. add salt to taste
Plate your longanissa and cauli rice together and add a fried egg to it for that silog effect! Enjoy!

My healthy new lifestyle + The freego 7 ways to sexy fitness challenge

Its been exactly 1 year since i've posted and my blog and I feel horrible about it. I hate being half baked and inconsistent. Anyway, a year has passed and a lot of changes have been made in my life specifically on my overall physical health. Before I divulge on that I just want to explain why i'm including this in my blog. Looking good is synonymous to feeling good and feeling good pertains to how you feel physically, mentally and emotionally. Following a healthy lifestyle balances these 3 aspects of feeling good. This is why I am now incorporating healthy lifestyle tips, recipes, workout routines, etc. Also, a ton my friends have been asking me for weight loss advice and for my recipes so I thought of integrating it here to hopefully inspire all of you to start a healthy lifestyle too! :)

The classic before and after photo! :)

Me 50 lbs heavier a year ago! Yikes.

A year ago, I never included myself in my blogposts because I was insecure and I believed that posting myself wouldn't attract followers because of how fat I was. Yes, this was a completely screwed up mindset because beauty isn't determined by size but I knew to myself that I would never feel good about my self image if I didn't make a change. So I did it! I erased grains (rice, bread, pasta and the like), sugar, alcohol, and fried compeletely! I started experimenting on vegetables, fruits and protein. I didn't want myself to feel like I was on a diet because I knew to myself that if I went on the tasteless and boring road of dieting, I wouldn't last long. So I researched and experimented on healthy food for months til I reached a loss of 30 lbs!

I was so so happy and motivated with my results which lead me to joining the 7 ways to sexy fitness challenge! It was a weight loss contest by freego to be lead by Erwan Heusaff the fat kid inside and Coach John Aquino of the house of pain. They we're both our mentors in eating clean and exercising. I've learned so much from this challenge and gained new sisters aka my freego friends hahaha love them to bits! The duration of the challenge was 40 days and in those forty days we we're required to submit our daily intake of food to Erwan and the 6 other girls at our WhatsApp group and we we're also given 8 sessions at the house of pain. the 40 days have past and i've lost a total of 20 lbs and dropped 10% of body fat in the challenge so in total ive lost 50 lbs! I am eternally grateful for the opportunity given to me and now im down to my last 50 lbs to lose! Yes, I want to lose a total of 100 lbs and hopefully adding my progress, tips, recipes, workout routines etc to my blog will help me in reaching this goal! I'll still be posting new looks for hair and makeup but now i'll be integrating a health and wellness portion too! :)

A compilation of some the food I ate within the 40 days! I'll be sharing the recipes soon :)

All About the Eyes: The Forbidden Fruit

Driving on the way to laguna, the idea of making a new post for my blog sprung up. The inspiration of the forbidden fruit came along from the lush greens and trees which surrounds our family's rest house and farm. The objective was to create smoldering and irresistible eyes which resembled the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden. This captivating look is perfect for a night out clubbing or partying.

 Procedure
1. Prime your face with a pore minimizing primer. I'm using Maybeline's pore eraser. This product is one I would highly recommend for it's pore concealing action.

2. Conceal your face at the bottom of your eyes, the corners of your nose and your lips and over all your imperfections. Blend till the concealer has camouflaged your blemishes. The concealer that was used is Muji's concealer stick

3. Apply your foundation around face and neck very evenly. Foundation used was Maybeline's pressed foundation.

4. Apply the cream colored/lightest eyeshadow over your brown bone and eyelid. This serves as your base.
5. From the inner corner of your eyes to the middle portion, go from your lightest gold to your darkest gold. Blend to preference
6. Apply the purple hues light to dark to the outer corner of your eye and blend to preference. Contour the lid of your eye with the darkest purple. Eyeshadow palette used was E.l.f. And Victoria's Secret

7. Line your eyes very thickly. Go for what your want. The thicker the line, the more your eyes pop. Line the botom line of your eyes and connect it to the thick liner on the top of your eyes. Eye liner used was Maybeline's pen liner. Highly recommendable product. Our model swam with the eyeliner on and it hardly came off!
8. Highlight the bridge of your nose and apples of your cheeks. Bronze the corners of your jaw, the bottom of your cheekbones and the sides of your forehead. Highlighter and bronzer used are bothe Victoria's Secret
9. Apply a very light pink or nude lipstick and lipgloss for that extra shine

Makeup by Ana

The best part of being a makeup artist is knowing that you've given your client an extra boost of confidence through the makeover you have given them. I've always been giving my friends makeovers since I was high school for fun. It was only now that I have decided to step things up and make it into a part time profession. I do this not only to earn but to enrich my passion and make girls feel even more beautiful through makeup and hair styling.

My services are priced at a very affordable price of
Php 300 for makeup
&
Php 200 for hair styling

You may be wondering why I have priced my services at such a low cost. It is because i'm relatively new in the professional makeup industry and I want to be able to cater to the price range of teenagers and young adults. My style of makeup is simple, clean and young. My goal in every makeover is to enhance my clients beauty and give her the look that she wants.

Beating the heat with hot summer beauty!

The sun is shining brighter than ever and the heat has taken its toll on all of us. Yes, its that time of the year. Its summer! What better way can you beat the heat than looking good and being hot, gorgeous and beautiful.
I thought of making a post on hair and makeup which will best suit this season. Hope all of you like it!

The tones that best fit for this season are the pinks, peaches, oranges, nudes and brown tones. These are the colors that represent the season because of its warm and sunny tone.

MAKEUP PRODUCTS USED AND INSTRUCTIONS:
So what I did was I used an SPF 30 BB cream ( Etude House Mineral BB cream) all over her face.  Remember that protecting your skin from the sun in important especially during this season to avoid skin problems such as sun burn, skin cancer and the like. Too much sun exposure causes our skin to age and wrinkle and we don't like that do we? So our number one rule for this season is to use products that protect our skin from the sun. I then finished it with Revlon Photo Ready face powder so her skin would look best in our pictures. For the eyes I used a cream tone for the brow bone and base of the lid, a mixture of peach and pink for the the middle area of the lid, shimmery white for the inner corner of the lid, medium brown for the outer corner of the lid, and dark brown for the contouring the crease of her eye which gave her eyes a bigger and rounder effect. All the tones used in her eye is from the E.L.F. multicolored eye shadow palette. Her eyes were lined with an eye liner I purchased from SASA in hongkong and coated her eyelashes with maybellines magnum volume express. I blushed the apples of her cheeks and jawline with tickled pink blush also from E.L.F. I then glazed the area above her cheek bone and the bone of her nose with high beam high lighter from benefit to give that part of her skin an extra glow when hit by the sun or any light. Lastly I applied shimmery pink lip gloss from l'oreal

Here is a clear visual guide to the eye makeup I used on the model. I created this illustration using Lancome's   makeup app for my ipad.

These are the products used during the shoot. Brands are E.L.F, Etude House, Revlon, Benefit, and L'oreal.

RECOMMENDABLE PRODUCTS USED:
The Revlon Photo Finish Foundation is highly recommendable for occasions that come with picture taking such as prom, ball, parties, weddings and the like. It gives you a perfect skin for pictures. Not too powdery not too shiny. The High Beam highlighter from benefit is also highly recommendable because of its thick luminous cream which gives you that extra glow.

This season's hair trends are all about the care free beach waves and the cute braids which give you that summery surfer girl look.

HAIR STYLING INSTRUCTIONS:
using a hair brush, tease the crown area and other parts of the hair where one wants body and volume. Fix hair neatly after teasing then curl bunches of hair depending on how curly you want it. Remember, Less strands per bunch of hair curled leads to curlier hair and more strands per bunch leads to less curly to wavy hair. In our shoot we used more strands of hair per bunch so it gave us a wavy effect. I then combed down the strands using my fingers to give it that loose care free look. I then took some strands from both sides of the head and braided it then secured both sides together with  bobby pins. Lastly, I added a flower clip to the secured bobby pins to add a litte touch of cuteness! :)

Play around with different summer tones, waves and braids! Be creative! And remember to stay hydrated and protected by the sun this season because the heat is hotter than ever! Thank you! Follow and Share the love! :)

Love Always,
Ana  Lim :)
